How do you put into words someone who has been part of your soul for your entire life? Sarah isn't just my sister. She's my person. We've been best friends for as long as I can remember.

When we were little, we were inseparable. Somewhere along the way, we became so intertwined that we almost developed our own language. Even now, we can usually tell what the other one is thinking without saying a word.

She has walked beside me through every season of my life. The joyful ones. The heartbreaking ones. The uncertain ones.

She's always been the person I call when life feels overwhelming. No matter what's going on in her own world, she answers the phone.

And if I need her...she comes. There has never been a question.

Sarah has five children of her own, yet when I was diagnosed with leukemia and learned I'd be spending weeks in the hospital, she immediately volunteered to take my kids back to Savannah with her.

She didn't hesitate. She didn't ask how long. She didn't ask how hard it would be. She simply stepped in. Because that's who she is.

The truth is, Sarah was born to be a mom. Even as a little girl, she was happiest taking care of her baby dolls. Looking back now, it almost feels like she was practicing for the life she was always meant to have. And she is, without question, the best mom I've ever known. She is endlessly patient. Completely engaged. She loves motherhood in a way that's beautiful to watch. Her children know they are deeply loved, and every child who spends time with her feels that same love, including mine.

Somehow, despite raising five incredible kids, she's never stopped being the sister I need. She's still my first phone call. Still my biggest cheerleader. Still the person who knows me better than almost anyone else in the world.

There are people in life who make you feel like you'll never have to face anything alone.

Sarah has always been that person for me. I honestly don't know how I would have walked this road without her. And I never take that for granted.
