The Rebirth

There are moments in life when you realize you haven't just survived.

You've thrived become someone entirely new.

For years, it felt like I was constantly fighting.

Fighting to protect my children.

Fighting for my career.

Fighting for my future.

Somewhere along the way, fighting became my normal.

But this chapter isn't about fighting.

It's about what happens when the dust finally settles.

It's about rediscovering joy.

For the first time in years, I wasn't building someone else's dream.

I was building my own.

Veterinary Vision Specialists wasn't just a business.

It was proof that sometimes the things we believe will destroy us are actually clearing the way for something better.

Every decision was mine.

Every detail reflected the kind of doctor I wanted to be.

Every patient reminded me why I had fallen in love with veterinary ophthalmology in the first place.

For the first time in my career, I wasn't working for someone else's vision.

I was finally living my own.

But VVS was never just about me.

It became everything I had always hoped a workplace could be because of the people who believed in it alongside me.

Danielly was there from the very beginning. Before there was an office, before there were exam rooms, before there were patients, there were the two of us sitting on the floor of my house with laptops, vendor catalogs, software demos, and an enormous dream. She helped build VVS from nothing.

Then came Kenzie and Lilly.

They weren't just employees.

They became family.

Together, the four of us created something that was so much bigger than a veterinary practice. We built a team that genuinely loved coming to work, celebrated one another's successes, laughed until we cried, supported each other through life's hardest moments, and treated every patient as if they were our own.

People constantly compliment us on our social media, our client experience, our communication, and the culture we've created.

None of that happened by accident.

It happened because every single person on our team cared deeply about doing things the right way and caring for people just as much as we cared for their animals.

That was always my dream.

And somehow...

It became reality.

Outside of work, life felt lighter than it had in years.

My children were thriving.

The custody battle was moving in the right direction.

My friendships had grown deeper than ever before.

And then there was David. After years of questioning what love was supposed to feel like, I met someone whose love didn't demand anything from me except that I simply be myself.

Little by little, he reminded me that love isn't supposed to feel like surviving. It's supposed to feel like coming home.

For the first time in a very long time...

I was genuinely happy.

Not because life was perfect.

But because it was finally mine.

Looking back now, I realize something I couldn't have known then.

This wasn't just a new beginning.

It was the happiest chapter of my life.

And because of that...

I had absolutely no idea what was about to happen next.
