The Day I got to go home

I'll miss the ginkgo trees outside my hospital window.

Every day, I said good morning to them, but now it’s time to go home to my own baby gingko.

I can't say I'll miss the room, though.

Getting home felt surreal. After weeks of hospital food, IV poles, and nurses checking my vitals at all hours, I walked through my own front door, got settled... and promptly impulse-bought a golf cart.

I have absolutely no regrets.

Maybe it was the meds. Maybe it was the realization that life is far too short to overthink things. Either way, I now own a golf cart, and I fully intend to enjoy every ridiculous minute of it.
